SILMO ISTANBUL OPTICAL FAIR WAS POSTPONED TO 2021
Dear Silmo İstanbul’s Exhibitors and Visitors,
The new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, which started to affect the world in March, as you know as well, continues to threaten human health and economies rapidly, as well as reduce our quality of life. As in the rest of the world, we continue our lives in our country in the new normal process as of June.
We believe that this process is temporary and we will come back to the days in which we will live healthier, more free social life and better economic standards in the coming months.
With the rapid spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19), all fairs not only in the optical sector but in the world were canceled.
Despite all the cancellations, we were planning to organize the Silmo Istanbul 2020 Optical Fair between 19-22 November, so we hoped that the effect of the disease would decrease and we thought we would meet with you. However, the increasing number of cases both in our country and all over the world for the last month, the possibility of re-restriction of social life, the curfew restrictions over the age of 65, the fact that Turkish Airlines' flights are still closed at many points (especially abroad), the uncertainties in the coming months and most importantly, as Comexposium and 24 Saat Fuarcılık INC., we have unfortunately decided to cancel the International Silmo Istanbul 2020 Optical Fair, which we plan to hold between 19-22 November 2020.
Despite this great global crisis, we present our sincere thanks and gratitude to 68 companies that confirmed their participation in the International Silmo Istanbul 2020 Optical Fair and to all our participants who have supported Silmo Istanbul since the day it was held, showing great entrepreneurship and courage to unite.
We wish that this decision we made for the health of all our visitors, exhibitors, all staff working in the fairground, our families and all our loved ones and for the beautiful and healthy days in the future will be beneficial for our optical industry.
