The Meeting Point of the Optical Industry Silmo Istanbul 2024
This year, the Silmo Istanbul Optical Fair hosted over 850 international brands from Turkey and abroad. These exhibitors showcased their latest collections, technological advancements, expertise, and capacity for innovation, as well as their forward-thinking contributions to the optical industry. With a focus on upcoming trends for the next season, the fair highlighted the dynamic evolution of the sector. Over the course of four days, the fair welcomed 12,046 visitors—80% from Turkey and 20% from 87 different countries. This remarkable attendance once again underscored the fair’s robust commercial potential and international significance.
Silmo Istanbul successfully brought together leading local and international brands, displaying the latest technological developments and contemporary designs in the optical world. From optical glasses and sunglasses, eyewear cases, lenses, contact lenses and their accessories, to cleaning equipment, sunglass lenses, optometric and ophthalmologic devices, diagnostic and treatment instruments, optical workshop tools, eyewear components, and machinery for the optical industry—the latest products in these categories garnered significant attention from industry professionals.
For 11 years, Silmo Istanbul has been instrumental in advancing Turkey’s optical industry in the global market. Drawing visitors from strategic regions such as Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa, the fair has become one of the leading international platforms in the sector. In 2024, the event not only facilitated the global reach of Turkish manufacturers but also demonstrated the production capacity and export potential of Turkey’s optical industry. This has enabled local brands to establish themselves as strong players in the global market.

Another highlight of the fair was the Silmo Award Istanbul 2024 ceremony, the first and only awards program dedicated to Turkey’s optical industry. Held for the second time this year, the prestigious event celebrated excellence and innovation within the sector. Attended by leading figures, the awards night showcased the tangible contributions of Silmo Istanbul to the industry. The ceremony honored groundbreaking designs, cutting-edge engineering, and leadership achievements while bolstering Turkey’s competitive edge in the global optical market.
Countdown to Silmo Istanbul 2025 Begins
As one of the most significant global events in the optical industry, Silmo Istanbul is set to return to the Istanbul Expo Center from November 19-22, 2025. With preparations already underway, this prestigious fair will continue to bring together local and international industry professionals, paving the way for trade, innovation, and collaboration.
