SILMO ISTANBUL CELEBRATED 10TH ANNIVERSARY

Silmo Istanbul Optical Fair, which took place on a total area of 25,000 m2 in Halls 5-6-7 of Istanbul Expo Center between November 23-26, was completed with the intense interest of local and foreign visitors. Silmo Istanbul Optical Fair, which was first organized in 2013 and offers an ideal shopping and trade platform for industry professionals with its experience in the global optics industry increasing every year, crowned its 10th anniversary with record attendance. 

With the participation of 900 national and international brands, Silmo Istanbul 2023 proved once again that it is the only platform in Turkey where the Turkish optical industry and international brands can reach their target markets directly and effectively. During these four dynamic days full of synergy, innovation and fun, a total of 13,385 visitors from 93 countries, 80% from Turkey and 20% from abroad, had the opportunity to discover the Silmo Istanbul experience, create new business opportunities, examine thousands of product ranges and communicate with new suppliers according to their needs.

Offering numerous innovations to all exhibitors and visitors in its 10th year, Silmo Istanbul Optical Fair established the "Trend Forum", showcasing the main trends through a thematic selection of optical and sunglass frames from exhibitors to guide and inspire Silmo Istanbul visitors. The hands-on Futurology area allowed visitors to test smart products, discover new innovations in virtual reality and try out a groundbreaking approach to sustainable production.

Silmo Istanbul Optical Fair, which brought together industry professionals and students with the latest trends for four days thanks to its carefully thought-out atmosphere, continued to contribute to the education and development of the industry with professional speakers and carefully selected current topics with the education program "Silmo Istanbul Academik" launched in 2022. Silmo Istanbul Academik, an area dedicated to lectures that provide insight into the key challenges and developments faced by the industry, saw a significant increase in the participation rate in the training seminars compared to last year, proving once again that Silmo Istanbul Optical Fair plays a key role in the development and education of the industry.

The biggest event of Silmo Istanbul in its 10th year was the "Silmo Awards Istanbul" ceremony, the first of its kind in Turkey. The "Silmo Award Istanbul" ceremony, where the production, innovation, creativity and representation in the Turkish Optical Industry were appreciated and crowned, was held on November 24, 2023 at Çırağan Palace, one of the most important symbols of the city with its unique location on the Bosphorus, magnificent architecture, rich history and unique beauty. At the Silmo Award Istanbul ceremony, which took place among the exhibitors of the fair, a total of 8 awards were presented in 5 categories and sub-headings. The products of the nominated and winning brands according to the category titles were exhibited in the "Trend Forum" area in Hall 7 during the fair.

Silmo Istanbul Awards 2023's Brand That Makes a Difference category was won by Etiler Optik with Sauren brand and Brand Representation category was won by Ser Optik with Silhouette brand. Prestij Optik with its Swing brand in the Local Production Sunglasses category; Gülce Optik with its Mooshu brand in the Local Production Optical Glasses category; Mercan Optik with its Minimix brand in the Local Production Children's Glasses category and Beta Optik in the Local Production Lens category. Cem-Fa in the Stand category and Emgen Optik with its long-established history in the Optical Store category were deemed worthy of Silmo Istanbul Awards.
